Waste Management Guidelines
We are implementing practices that minimise waste generation, promote recycling and reuse, and ensure responsible disposal of waste. This includes proper disposal of hazardous materials and recycling of paper, plastic, and other recyclable materials.
Assessment and Planning
At the commencement of our practices and operations, we will conduct a waste audit to identify the types and quantities of waste generated by our laundry operations We will set measurable waste reduction goals, such as reducing landfill waste by a ______ (%) by ________ (date).
Work with our employees to develop a waste management plan outlining strategies and actions to achieve our waste reduction goals.
Reduce Waste Generation
As a community committed to energy-efficient and sustainable practices - we will invest in water-saving laundry equipment to minimise resource consumption and our carbon footprint.
We will encourage our customers to use sustainable laundry detergents and essentials. We will provide sustainable options to reduce waste and make the option of choosing our planet easier.
At Your Laundry Room, we are also implementing spaces to minimise textile waste, by repairing damaged garments, having places to donate or recycle unwanted clothing, and hosting community clothing swaps.
