Chemical Management Guidelines

Chemical Handling and Storage 

All laundry chemicals will be handled and stored in accordance with manufacturer instructions and safety guidelines. Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) will be readily available for reference by employees.

In Australia, the handling of laundry chemicals is regulated to ensure the safety of workers and the environment. The guidelines and regulations regarding laundry chemical handling typically fall under occupational health and safety (OH&S) regulations and may also involve environmental regulations depending on the specific chemicals involved.

Occupational Health and Safety Regulations

As an organisation that prioritises the safety of its employees, we are committed to adhering to the national standards of occupational health and safety. These regulations govern the safe handling, storage, and use of chemicals in the workplace, including laundry facilities. The regulations aim to protect workers from hazards associated with chemical exposure.

Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)

We will provide MSDS to all relevant employees for all hazardous chemicals used in Your Laundry Room spaces, including laundry chemicals. Information on the hazards of the chemical, safe handling procedures, and emergency response measures will be provided. 

Australian Standard AS/NZS 4836:2011

At Your Laundry Room, we are committed to following the guidance provided on the safe handling, storage, and use of chemicals in the workplace. This includes but is not limited to:
- The adequate labeling and storage of laundry equipment 
- The provision of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Adequate procedures in place that provide guidance on what to do in the event of a
   spill, leak, or injury. 
- Training and education for employees on how to handle these chemicals

We are deeply committed to ensuring the types of chemicals we use are not only in line with Government regulations and recommendations but that they are not disposed of in a way that harms the broader environment.
